Our Mission Statement
Knockminna N.S., is a small, rural, co-educational, Catholic, primary school which aims at promoting the full and harmonious development of the intellectual, emotional, spirtual, physical, moral and cultural needs of all those who attend and work in this school.
Knockminna N.S.is a school with a Catholic ethos and therefore endeavours to transmit a philosophy of life which is inspired by belief in God and in the life,death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Practices and attitudes in the school are inspired by Gospel values. Due recognition and respect is also fostered for people of different religious affiliations and of different nationalities.
At Knockminna N.S., the Principal Teacher, Deputy Principal, staff and ancillary staff aim at making the school a centre of excellence in which high professional standards are maintained and where pupils learn in a well-ordered, caring, happy, safe and secure environment.This school aims to foster a sense of community between management, teachers, parents and pupils and a sense of belonging in the wider community of the parish.
In Knockminna N.S., close contact is maintained between school and home. Parents and teachers support one another and collaborate with one another as partners in leading the young pupils to the fullness of their potential at the different stages.
Knockminna N.S.,recognises the dignity and value of each person who is made in the image and likeness of God.The enchancement of self-esteem is therefore viewed as extemely important and gender equity will also be promoted.
